I’m Rachael Penny, the Bean Behind The Bowl.
I’m 23 years old, a culinary and circus artist.
I’ve loved cooking as long as I can remember. After high school, I went to university taking a major in psychology. Halfway through I dropped out to attend culinary school. I graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts and worked in a kitchens throughout my time in school and about a year after graduating. At that point I was so burnt out from the exhausting long hours and all over the place schedule that is the kitchen life. I left kitchens and went to work for a bank (where I still am!).
It took awhile to get back into cooking for fun. As I found doing it in a commercial kitchen extremely draining. This blog has become my outlet to share my love for cooking healthy, nutritious food 🙂 I hope you enjoy making and reading my recipes as much as I love creating them.
